Marking, instructions and packaging, compliant with the standards and properly designed.
Marking, instructions for use and packaging have to meet the standards, and they also have to look the part. Both are designed here: the mandatory information under Annex II as much as the visual identity. The benefit is that it all comes from one hand, without a round of coordination between consultant and designer.
Three areas, one point of contact
Each area bookable on its own, or together as a single package.
Marking
CE marking in the correct size and position, category marking for category III, pictograms to ISO 7010, type plates and size information. Every element is derived directly from Annex II rather than added on afterwards.
Instructions for use
Annex II, point 1.4, demands more than most people expect: storage, care, service life, the limits of the protection, in several languages and in plain terms. Designed so that it is useful both to the notified body and to the end user.
Packaging
Mandatory information on the packaging, aligned with the technical documentation and the marking, so that everything fits together at the point of sale instead of contradicting itself.
Why these belong together
A graphic designer does not know Annex II. A consultant does not design packaging. Separating the two means paying for the coordination between them, and for every round of corrections when the notified body objects to something in the marking that nobody checked at the design stage.
-
Annex II
Mandatory information complete.
Name, address, category, reference to the standard, CE marking. Nothing is missing, because what the notified body looks for is known.
-
ISO 7010
Pictograms to the standard.
Standardised symbols instead of hand-drawn warnings that stand out during assessment.
-
Consistency
One document, one truth.
Marking, instructions, packaging and technical documentation say the same thing everywhere.
